Dare Devil in Training

Mikayla has always been slow to catch on to things, rolling, crawling, teething...but she has definetly caught onto climbing. She will if she can, crawl up onto anything, stand up on her tippy toes, just to get the highest point or to make me have a heart attack! And me being the mother I am go and grab the camera, which is usually not too far away and start taking pictures. Then I tell her to "get down" or "sit on your butt".

Painting 101

Yesterday I decided to break out the paints again, but this time use the new easel she got for Christmas instead of sitting strapped into the high chair. She did really good and didn't walk around with the paint brushes and paint everything like I was expecting, lol. The only mishap was when she picked up the cup of paint and it slipped out of her hands and sprayed the whole kitchen floor! Ah well, she needed a change of outfit anyways....

Happy Birthday!!

Today is John's 28th birthday. Happy Birthday husband!! 2 more years til your 30. I guess thats for me too since my birthday is 4 days after his.
Its a birthday month though. Saturday is Kara's birthday, then my birthday, then on the 12th is Uncle Roberts birthday. I also know many other people who have a birthday in January. This is also the month I found I was pregnant with Mikayla (actually I found out on my birthday 2 years ago!)

I love January!!

We had a great Christmas this year, Mikayla made out like a bandit! She is soo spoiled, ha! I put together a little montage of the photos and video we took (got the idea from a blogger friend;)

Big Snow!!!

Last night thru this morning we had alot of snow fall, about 8 inches in 12 hours!! It was a nice day outside, warmer than it has been so I decided to take Mikayla out to play in all the fluffy white stuff. She had alot of fun walking in the driveway where it was smoother to walk. She thought it was the funniest thing watching Grandma throw snowballs to Diezel while he caught them.

Santa try #2

Today was a very long day...

It started with a playdate in the morning with a friend, then we went to get pictures done for a keepsake ornament that we are making a holiday tradition, or at least try. The only place that does them, that I have found, is Kiddie Kandids. We didn't have her other pictures done there this year because I found a new place that I really like, but they don't do the ornament so off we went. It was a 30 minute drive from where we were and thankfully Mikayla took a little nap. We met my mom at the mall and went and grabbed lunch before taking pictures. She did wonderful, why can't she be like this for my photography sessions, ugh! Anyways, after that we went and stood in line for Santa for about an hour. Once we see Santa, Mikayla starts screaming. Great! So I sat with her hoping that that would help, not really but at least we got a pic of her not crying. Better luck next year!
